I've been reading up on hearts in the library. Apparently, there is one such world which has a weapon known as a Keyblade... And these Keyblades are possessed with the power of locking and unlocking hearts.
A person whose heart is locked falls into a deep slumber, while a heart that is unlocked is awake. At least... that's what seems to be the case as far as I gathered.

Indeed. You could easily effectively send someone into a coma, after all. Apparently it was crafted in the image of something known as the χ, the Greek letter, blade. And that χblade could reveal something known as Kingdom Hearts.
Perhaps you ought to read it, sometime. [He gives a gentle smile as he presses a kiss to the top of Aiden's head.] I think you'd enjoy it.
